Jessica Wu, MMus

Piano

Jessica started learning piano at the age of 3. Being a Hong-Kong born pianist, she is currently based in London and Hong Kong. She graduated from Master of Music (piano performance) at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2022. During her studies at Trinity, she studied with Professor Mikhail Kazakevich. She also took lessons and participated in masterclasses with Professor Julian Jacobson, Professor Pascal Rogรฉ and Ms Olga Jegunova.

She actively takes part in performances. She has performed publicly and organised recitals in London and Hong Kong. In the past, she performed classical repertoire in Old Royal Naval College Chapel, St. Georgeโ€™s Parish Church in Beckenham, Christ Church in Kent, St Gabriel's Pimlico and Methodist International Church in Hong Kong. Despite her passion in classical music, she explored other styles of music and music creation including improvisation at Whose Theme is it, Anyway? concert series.

In addition to her passion in performance, she has a strong enthusiasm for piano education. It is her teaching aim to develop students' interest in and appreciation of music. During her 6+ years of piano teaching experience, she had the privilege to teach students aged 5 - 18+ from beginner to ATCL diploma level. In the past, her students achieved Distinction in Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 4 and Grade 5 piano and examination (ABRSM). She appreciates that each student learns differently so she is constantly looking for innovative teaching methods to cultivate studentsโ€™ interest in piano (e.g. storytelling, drawing, singing and dancing).
