Jessica Wu, MMus
Piano & Singing
Jessica started learning piano at the age of 3. Born in Hong Kong, she is currently based in both London and Hong Kong. She graduated with a Master of Music (Piano Performance) from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2022, where she studied under Professor Mikhail Kazakevich. She actively attends lessons and masterclasses around the world and has had the privilege of studying with esteemed professors and pianists, including Professor Julian Jacobson, Professor Pascal Rogรฉ, Professor Pablo Galdo and Olga Jegunova.
She has previously organised recitals in both Hong Kong and London, at venues including St James's Church (Sussex Gardens, Paddington), the Royal Naval College (Greenwich), St Georgeโs Parish Church (Beckenham), The Royal Marsden Hospital (Chelsea), and the Methodist International Church (Hong Kong).
In addition to her passion in performance, she has a strong enthusiasm for piano education. It is her teaching aim to develop students' interest in and appreciation of music. During her 6+ years of piano teaching experience, she had the privilege to teach students aged 5 - 18+ from beginner to ATCL diploma level. In the past, her students achieved Distinction in Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 4 and Grade 5 piano and examination (ABRSM). She appreciates that each student learns differently so she is constantly looking for innovative teaching methods to cultivate studentsโ interest in piano (e.g. storytelling, drawing, singing and dancing).
Jessica is also an experienced piano accompanist, having worked extensively with choirs, instrumentalists, and churches. In addition to the piano, she sings, conducts, and plays the organ, viola, and cello.
With over 13 years of choral singing experience, she has performed in public choral concerts, including Look at the World with John Rutter (2017). She also has a strong interest in musical theatre, pop, and Disney music, and was selected as one of the 18 finalists among 250 participants in a public singing contest in Hong Kong.
Her conducting experience includes both choral and orchestral settings, and she has led performances such as the annual concert of a Christian choir in Hong Kong. Since 2025, Jessica has been appointed as Director of Music at Christ Church Isle of Dogs, where she leads the choir and overseas the planning of liturgical and musical programmes.
