Canary Music School is a growing music school based in East London, providing instrumental, singing and music theory lessons for children and adults.
We are always interested in hearing from passionate and dedicated music teachers who share our commitment to high quality music education. While we may not always have an immediate vacancy available, we regularly welcome applications from teachers who would like to be considered for current and future opportunities.
We Are Seeking Teachers For
We are particularly interested in hearing from teachers of:
Piano
Violin
Viola
Singing (Musical Theatre & Pop)
Music Theory
Applications from teachers who can teach multiple subjects are especially welcome.
We also welcome applications from teachers of other instruments.
What We Look For
We are looking for teachers who:
Hold a music degree or equivalent professional qualification
Have the right to work in the UK on a self employed basis
Have at least 2 years of teaching experience
Are familiar with ABRSM and/or Trinity College examinations
Are confident teaching students of different ages and abilities, particularly beginners and young children
Are willing to teach both children and adults
Are patient, reliable and well organised
Have excellent communication skills
Enjoy working as part of a team
Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and professional standards
Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate or are willing to obtain one before teaching begins
Teaching Opportunities
Teaching opportunities may include individual lessons, group courses and workshops in instrumental music, singing and music theory.
Lessons may be delivered online, at our teaching venues in Isle of Dogs and Royal Wharf, or at students' homes. Teachers are welcome to indicate their preferred teaching formats and locations, and we will always endeavour to match opportunities accordingly.
Most teaching takes place during school term time, although additional holiday teaching opportunities may occasionally be available by mutual agreement.
